Ann Marie began her musical journey at age seven when she took her first piano lessons in her home town of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Her love of music was further enhanced by taking up a second instrument, the cornet, at age eleven.

Developing her skills on both of these instruments lead Ann Marie to audition and gain entry to Huddersfield music school, where she studied piano with Eileen Bass and was lead under the baton of Phillip Mcann for her brass band work. Whilst in Huddersfield she was greatly influenced and inspired by her scoring and arranging mentor, Major Peter Parks.

After completing her piano studies in Huddersfield Ann marie moved to Morecambe and established her own private piano teaching practice.

Working closely with the London College of Music examination board, she was soon given the opportunity to hold the post of LCM representative for Morecambe and Lancaster, arranging and hosting exam sessions. A further post of Yamaha Junior Music School tutor meant that Ann Marie gained extensive experience as a class tutor as well as her private one to one lessons.

Today Ann Marie has strong connections with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and concentrates on her private teaching practice of piano and music theory, songwriting and composition and is based in Halton, Lancaster.
